pancake_bfst3-300When we talk about our building project and it’s support being a Grass-Roots effort, nothing says it better than the efforts of the folks from our local Kiwanis organization. At 5:30 on the morning of April 9th, the Blue Spruce Evergreen Kiwanians were at our new art center setting up, cooking, and getting ready to serve the community and CAE with pancakes, sausages, beverages and most of all a “giving” attitude. Dave Krieves from the group stated that they “enjoyed providing breakfast at the future home of the Center for the Arts! We are impressed with the project and wish you continued success. There was a great sense of community at the event.”

The campaign netted over $3,000 and brought a richer awarness of the project to the many folks who came but hadn’t known of about the building campaign. Breakfast was served to 175-200 people, brought in a financial boost to the capital campaign, and most importantly toured a host of folks through the new art center – every one of whom caught our vision for what can be.

There was also no small measure of support from CAE’s campaign committee, and board members who helped with Friday setup, tours, and being ambassadors at the event.  A shout out to all of you who lended a hand loading and unloading tables and chairs, and hats off to the Blue Spruce Kiwanis and to all of the CAE folks who helped make our Pancake Breakfast yesterday a wild success.
