One hundred and thirty art enthusiasts turned up for the second appearance of the Evergreen Originals group performing a benefit for the capital campaign to raise money for our new art center. With 16 talented musicians sharing the stage performing on an incredible array of different instruments, the tunes and talent impressed and pleased all. Peggy Eggers, one of the original drivers behind this effort said it well, “What a honking amazing night that was. Standing there at the end, clapping and swaying to the beat with the room in a continuous standing ovation and seeing the joy on so many familiar musicians’ and audience’s faces made yet another magical Evergreen memory as we continue to work our unstoppable cause.”
John Erlandson, Band leader and one of the event organizers said “Pandora & I thank you all for making Originals II a success last Thursday. A lot went into this endeavor from organizational meetings to securing Center Stage to food preparation to press releases to phone calls to giving $’s for the cause and more. It certainly took a village to make it happen, but it certainly was worth it. The musicians have weighed in on the night and all consider it to be a “happening” in which they were privileged to be a part of and something they will never forget. A positive vibe was created that drew us all closer together. It was a special event, and we know we stirred the pot and raised a few dollars for the cause.”
Thanks to everyone for your heroic efforts to make it happen so seamlessly – all the practicing and coordinating and music making and cooking and pouring and parking and ticket taking and sponsoring and giving you did. Thanks to all the musicians and sponsors. And a special shout out to John & Pandora for carrying the torch.
