While pretty much all new commercial buildings use walls made from metal studs, these are not really suitable for easy picture hanging. On March 25th, a happy group of volunteers showed up at our construction site to install backing lumber between studs: 2x6x24 planks screwed in between metal studs.
This preparatory work will allow the hanging of artwork from the walls throughout the gallery, the reception area and classrooms. Volunteers showed up with your screw guns, power drills, and eye protection to complete this work. For more pictures of the fun, go to our construction progress page and check out March’s photos.
